Speak for those who cannot speak

Friends,

There is a movement underway to let our government leaders know that we do care about the fate of the people in Darfur, Sudan. More than 400,000 people have died while state-supported genocide, rape and burnings continue.

SaveDarfur.org is collecting ONE MILLION electronic and paper postcards to send to President Bush to urge him to support a stronger multi-national force to protect the people of Darfur. Already, there are small movements toward this, but the people of Darfur have needed our help for more than two years.

Please consider taking a minute to click below and speak for those who cannot speak for themselves.

www.millionvoicesfordarfur.org

Whether or not you choose to participate, please keep the people of this region in your prayers.

Thanks.

Michelle,

We met once at All Saints. Don't ever think you don't make an impression on people. Because even if I can't remember your face, I remember your love for Christ. And that you are brave enough to push for women in San Joaquin. Ask Amanda for my email.

But on the topic of this post...

We have a congregation of Sudanese in our parish. I have heard many stories, from SPLA soldiers, from children, from grandmothers. To be from Darfur is truly to be a lost child of God. The resiliance of spirit I have encountered is a testimony of the Spirit.

Thanks for the heads up. I will make sure this gets around in my diocese also.

Heather,

Thank you so much for your kind and encouraging words. I appreciate it.

And thanks for spreading the word on Sudan.

By Amanda, do you mean Amanda G-P or Amanda G? (I know two who were affiliated with All Saints).
